Pastel as Sculpture: Inspired by Henry Moore Workshop

Pastel as Sculpture: Inspired by Henry Moore

This workshop explores abstraction through form, inspired by the work of Henry Moore.

Following a short introduction to Moore’s artistic vision and practice, you will work from a carefully selected sculpture reference. Through guided warm-up exercises, you will learn essential oil pastel techniques before translating organic, figure-based forms into two-dimensional drawings.

The focus is on understanding volume, weight, and negative space, using pastel as a sculptural medium.

This session offers a structured approach to observing abstraction and confidently applying it within your own work.

What you’ll learn:

• Introduction to Henry Moore’s work and approach to form

• Core pastel techniques through guided exercises

• How to translate three-dimensional forms into drawing

• Understanding volume, weight, and negative space

All materials included, drinks and snacks. All levels welcome!
