Impressionism Painting Workshop

An exploration of light and colour in paint

Step into the luminous world of Impressionism in this painting workshop guided by Carlo Tozzi, founder and art curator of st-Art. Carlo leads the studio’s artistic vision and brings a contemporary yet historically informed approach to teaching, helping participants understand both the techniques and artistic ideas behind major movements in art history.

In this session, you will immerse yourself in the principles of Impressionist painting, exploring how artists like Monet, Renoir, and Pissarro captured fleeting light, movement, and everyday scenes. You’ll create your own painting inspired by Impressionist techniques, focusing on colour, brushwork, and atmosphere rather than fine detail.

What You’ll Learn:

• Understand the key ideas and visual language of Impressionism

• Learn how to observe light, colour shifts, and atmosphere in a scene

• Practice expressive brushstrokes and colour layering techniques

• Create a finished Impressionist-style painting on canvas, ready for display

All materials are provided — just bring your curiosity, and we’ll take care of the rest!

This workshop is suitable for all levels and ideal for those looking to explore art history through practice and develop a freer, more expressive painting style.
